How do I design my closet?

Italian Born American Made .We offer two ways to design your closet. 1) Use our on line design tool. 2) Download the “You Design” PDF form from our web site and fill out, send it to us and we will provide you with a free 3D-design that will satisfies your closet needs and that best utilizes your available space. We do not believe in “one size fits all” all our products are custom made to the size and condition of your space.

When designing on line, do I have to adjust the width separation of the post to an exact measurement?

No, do not worry about this. Once we receive your order, we will optimize your layout with our state of art CAD program and will send to you for final approval before production. We will check for mistakes and certain conditions that could be obvious to us but not necessarily to someone that designs closets for the first time.

Why when designing on line is the default double hang at 40” and the long hang at 55”?

This is based on a typical ceiling height of 96 inches and leaves a foot of usable shelf space above the double hang and of 40” on the long hang. This works well for people of most heights. What are the advantages of an MCD system?

Because all the components are attached on floor to ceiling posts, the product is very easy to install, easy to reconfigure and much more stronger than “Track” supported closets products. Unlike wall mounted closet systems, our closets do not require a hanging bar across the wall or to remove baseboard or moldings. And because the posts are on levelers, there's no need for you to shim to compensate for sloping floors or irregular walls in your closet.

How strong is an MCD Post?

The post is made of marine quality extruded aluminum. Because the posts are floor mounted, all the weight of the clothes is on the floor and not on the wall. Weight is equally distributed between posts. A typical 36” span a closet section can hold 500 lbs. So an 8- foot wide closet can hold around 1,300 pounds.

How high can I go with the MCD post?

You can go all the way to 120” with a standard post. We can go higher on request.

What tools will I need to install an MCD closet system?

Installation requires very basic Do It Yourself “DYI” skills. You’ll need, a tape measure, a small level, a #2 Phillips power drill. Please see our installation video on our website, it will give you a step-by-step detailed installation instructions. There is NO cutting required during the installation. Are MCD closets adjustable?

Yes, we use a “clamp system” that allows you to move the components up and down at ¼” increments without damaging the post, you just need a # 2 Phillips head screw driver. Please see at our installation video on our website, it will give you a step-by-step detailed installation instructions.

How thick are your shelves?

Our shelves are high quality; 3/4" thick commercial grade textured thermo-fused melamine. Not 5/8” like most manufacturers.

How deep are your shelves?

Our shelves are 16” deep. Not 12” or 14” like most manufacturers. We can also accommodate on request 20” deep shelves or combination. (some 16” some 20” some 12”)

What is the depth of your Box drawers?

All of our box drawers are 20” deep. We use only the best undermount soft close slides. Not antiquated side mounted ball baring slides.

Do I have to assemble the drawers?

Not like other manufactures, our drawers come completely factory assembled and tested on a “box-drawer” so it is just a matter of hanging the box and you are done.

For how long is your product warranted?

MCD closets include a lifetime-limited warranty.

Can you make custom Islands?

Yes, since islands are a bit more complicated to design on line, please call our design team at for assistance at 888 308 9778 and we will design them for you.

Can I make changes layout after I placed my order?

Yes you have 24 hours to make changes. Call our design team for assistance at 888 308 9778.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping is FREE within the contiguous U.S. on qualifying orders over $100.00.

If I order my closet today, when will I get it?

Orders typically ship 5-business day via standard UPS ground service or by a freight carrier. Typical delivery to your address depends on carrier published schedule.
